A claim in your draft, linked to the exact passage in its source that proves it. Sample data.

Citation Integrity Report

Proof for your supervisor and examiners: every reference verified, source quality, claims without a citation and claim–source checks on one A4 page, with a code anyone can verify.

A source for every sentence that needs one

PaperQED marks the sentences in your draft that state a fact without a source and suggests papers that back them, each with the passage that matters. Pick one, and the citation and its bibliography entry are added in your style.

  1. Write as usual

Sentences that make a claim without a citation are marked as you write.

  2. Get suggested sources

Each suggestion shows the passage that backs your sentence, in any language.

  3. Insert in one click

The in-text citation and bibliography entry follow your citation style. Nothing else in your text changes.

You choose every source. PaperQED never adds a citation on its own.

  • Partially supports

The effect was significant for first-year students only; later cohorts showed no difference.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is PaperQED?

PaperQED is a citation and evidence copilot for academic writing. It suggests sources for the sentences in your draft that need one, checks whether your references exist and are correct, and whether the sources you cite actually support your claims.

  • Does PaperQED choose my sources for me?

No. It suggests papers for the sentences that need a source and shows the passage behind each suggestion. You decide which one to cite; PaperQED then adds the citation and bibliography entry in your style. Suggested papers come from scholarly databases, never from a language model.

  • What happens to my documents?

Your document travels encrypted (TLS) and is stored encrypted, kept separate per user and per campus. PaperQED reads it only to run the checks you start: it looks up your references and compares each claim with its source. The results stay in your account. Your document is never used to train AI models, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

  • Which databases does PaperQED use?

Metadata comes from Crossref, OpenAlex, and Semantic Scholar, never from a language model. More regional indexes are planned.

  • If a reference is "not found", is it fake?

Not necessarily. "Not found" means we couldn't find it in our databases. Books, reports, and local journals are often missing. We show the closest candidate when there is one, so you can check yourself.

  • Is this a plagiarism checker?

No. PaperQED checks citation accuracy and whether claims match their sources. It complements tools like Turnitin rather than replacing them.

  • Does it work if I don't write in English?

Yes. Cross-lingual search finds English papers for text in other languages and the other way round, so you don't miss the international literature.

  • Can I use it now, and how much does it cost?

Yes. Create a free account and start with the free plan. Paid plans for students, researchers and campuses are listed in the Pricing section.
